Thank you so much for this memorial. Hank was my Aunt Rita Leskoske's fiance. She told Hank she would marry him when he came home. It was never to be. She is 100 years old now and says "I will see him again in Heaven. He's been waiting for me."

Hank was my Aunt Rita Leskoske's fiance. He lived on Carbon St and Aunt Rita lived on Spring St. They went to Assumption Academy. In High School they started dating and he went in the Navy. After he got out of the Navy they were together when Pearl Harbor happened. He told Aunt Rita, "I guess I'll join up again. Will you marry me?" She said yes. But this time he joined the Army/Air Corp instead of the Navy. He wrote many letters and sent Aunt Rita lots of small gifts from wherever he...

I knew that he served as a bomber crewman in the Army Air Corps and had been killed in the war but never knew the...

Thank you for posting this memoriam. Hank was my uncle. He was my mother's kid brother (by some 25 years). I was just a small boy and he came to visit her. This was before World War II. I remember he was in his Navy uniform and his hat bore the name of his ship - USS Texas. His hitch was up and he was back in civilian life when the Texas was sunk at Pearl Harbor. I knew that he was a bomber crewman in the Air Corps and had been killed but never knew the circumstances of his...
