Not sure what to say?

Addie & the girls - Zipp was my oldest and best friend. Big surprise, huh? Gosh, I loved him - ticks, warts, and all. What a varied life - Wittenberg music major, Beatles maniac, Ithaca hippie & composer, Chicago blues boy, husband, father, wine geek cum wine merchant, jogger, then runner, then fanatical marathoner, church choir director, courageous cancer warrior -- Zipp provided a million laughs, and in the end, profound inspiration. Those emotional milestones of his illness are etched...

To Zip's family and his extended family:

I have to say I grew up with Zip, as none of truely grow up until we leave our homes for college and work. Zip and I managed to find our way in this world, and I'm sorry he did not get finished what he started. I will truly miss him.

To you, his family, my deepest sympathy at this time of mourning. I am sorry for your loss and ours.

To Addie, Elizabeth, Julia, the Molard & Lang families, our hearts are with you. What a privilege it was to enjoy good times with Zipp, who loved all of life like he loved good wine, and drank every drop. Zipp's energy and love and courage live on in those he touched.

To the Lang Family: Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. I haven't seen my cousin Zipp for many years but it is obvious that the love for family and friends he demonstrated as a child continued throughout his life. May your memories sustain you during this difficult time.

i spent a fair amount of time with Zipp back in Springfield and beyond. He was always funny, bright, friendly and witty, and i shall miss him. My sincerest condolences to the family, and with his passing comes a recognition that i need to renew some old friendships.

I went to college at Wittenberg with Zipp where he was a great and dear friend to me. We grew apart over the years, but I am fortunate to still possess many wonderful memories of our time together. I am so deeply sorry and sad to hear of his loss.

I leave this poem by May Sarton. It has provided me comfort in times of loss. God bless.

All Souls

Did someone say that there would be an end,
And end, Oh, an end, to love and mourning?
...

Our deepest sympathy to Addie and her family. Our prayers are with you. We are all better people for having the opportunity of meeting and knowing our dear friend, Zipp.

I am so blessed to have gotten to experience the most amazing friendship these past 6 years.Zipp not only brought out the runner in me, but also gave me the greatest gifts of laughter, love and the ability to see what is truly important. He believed in me no matter what, and I will continue to run the race for him. Thank you to the Langs for allowing me to share in Zipp's life. You will always be in my daily thoughts and prayers.

Although we ran together in the same running club for several years I really didn't know Zipp very well. It was only after he was diagnosed that I emailed him a caring note that our friendship began. I became one of his biggest fans.

Zipp showed me that being sensitive is a strength and not a weakness. That it is better to participant in life rather than a watch. More over, that the caring and love you give is directly proportional to that you receive.

I will...
