When James St was in the East Ward Hank Martinez, made it possible for Charlotte and me to get a construction loan from Carteret Savings. The sales agreement that we had with the city made it impossible to get a loan. He also got an ordinance for parking by permit (the first in Newark) on James St at a time when St Michaels Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield all parked on the street. His door was always open to his constituents. He was the best.
