Not sure what to say?

Father Henry Murphy SJ was a dear and wonderful friend to the Cook family. We met him when my brother Don began his studies at Fairfield University in 1959. We were blessed for decades with his faithful friendship and counsel, his sense of humor and storytelling. Our conversations often included an update on his family that he loved so well and the occasional movie review. Fr Murphy graced this world with a spirit that was incredibly generous and far reaching. I am so grateful to have known...

My deepest condolences to Fr. Murphy's family, nehews, nieces and Jesuit brothers. "Murph" was a great priest and a great person beloved by all who knew him. I was fortunate to know Fr. Murphy from my junior year on Northwest 4 and would always stop at his room after I graduated either just to visit and talk or go out to dinner in town or up at Bellarmine. Father Henry will be missed. So many of us were baptized and /or married by him.

Murph,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of "Hank." He made our world a better place and is now doing the same in heaven. Please know that he, you, and yours are in our prayers.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

Father Henry Murphy, SJ and I arrived on the Fairfield University campus in 1959. I had a number of challenges adjusting to college, but his confidence in me, added to his wonderful, engaging personality gave me the encouragement and support needed to thrive in college. Without his counsel and special priestly love, many of us would not have enjoyed the rich, value-centerd benefits of a Jesuit education, and life's treasures that followed. God bless you Father Henry! I know He will, and in...

We were so sorry to hear about Father Henry's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.

I used to have some nice conversations with Father on campus. He was a lovely person.

I will never forget Father Henry and his famous saying to me "I never did get the devil out of you" when talking about baptizing me as an infant. Father Henry meant so much to our family, performing my wedding, my first child's Baptism as well as many of our loved one's funeral Masses. The world has lost a great man with his passing and he will surely be missed by us all. God Bless.
