Grandpa Henry was special to many. He helped me find my first Sweat lodge. The time I spent at his home in Maryland during his lodge was always special. He was a very respectful person who was a good example for all to follow. His humbleness was always something that stood out. I'm very grateful to have got to know him through those experiences. His memory will always keep him alive in our hearts.

In 1976 I bought my first "real" painting, from the Grippi Gallery on East 59 th St. in New York City. It was fabulous! I loved/love it! Joe Grippi told me that the Whitney Museum had been interested in it because they were collecting the artist, Henry Niese, but they decided against this painting because it was only signed on the back, and not signed on the front.
