PURCELL, Henry Nelson, of Mechanicsville, departed this life Tuesday, May 25, 2010. He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Magnolia L. "Pety" Purcell; three sons, Anthony (Pam), Nelson (Carolyn) and Vincent (Joy); two daughters, MaLinda Brown (Patrick) and E. LaVern Hicks (Michael); 13 grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Yolanda Reed and Kim Clarke; a stepgranddaughter, Leah Reed. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at the Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy., Mechanicsville, where services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Entombment Washington Memorial Park.

My condolences. I worked with Henry for many years. No finer man you could find. Henry was a great friend and confidant. I will cherish the many memories. We are diminished.

My condolences to all of Henry's family, I was very saddened to hear of his passing. I worked with him in the Power House at DuPont, he was a good friend. May the GOD of Heaven be with each of you in your grief.
