Not sure what to say?

I served at Dyess AFB as an enlisted Airman, under Lt. Schlachter, in the Services Squadron, circa 1968/70, before deploying to Guam. We all remember certain people in our lives who encourage or inspire us to do our best to improve our lives. For me it was Lt Schlachter. With his inspiration, I went on to complete my BA and my MA in Economics and later became a portfolio manager for the Dreyfus Fund in NYC for many years before retirement. I remember looking out of my office window at 59th...

To Barbara and the girls... This news comes late to us in Houston, and for that I am remiss in letting you know that we have such delightful memories of the times we spent with you when we lived in Dallas. John and I reminisce often of those days, but reading Hank's obituary truly made me smile, just thinking about his playful, yet determined way of dealing with life. I think of him as being the "King" in a house of "Royal Ladies," and he loved every minute. But the reference to his love...

Whenever I attended a lunch or party that included Hank, he always left me with a smile on my face. What a fun, joyful man! Jim Vittetoe

Here's to a good man who was made better by the educators at U of D High. You are missed, Hank!

Hank´s obituary captured so much about Hank. I first met Hank circa 1982 buying real estate. In business , Hank was always honest , knowledgeable and competitive . Our lunches were almost always divided into three segments. First , taking about his girls and family that was by far the priority of his life and the source of his greatest happiness. Second , discussing America, politics and Norte Dame. And finally about the transaction Hank was selling. Hank was a good sport but...

Through the years in which we have shared family members, I have learned to respect and admire Hank so for his love of his wife and fabulous daughters plus his delightful grandchildren, his innate joy of life that was often infectious, and for his courtesy and kindness to all others through the vicissitudes of life. God bless Hank and all of you in his cherished family.

Jane and family, your Dad was so special and a joy to be around! He definitely took pride in being the father of three daughters - a role he did exceptionally well and one that I appreciate more and more each day. May God bless you all with wonderful memories and ongoing lessons from Hank´s life. He was indeed a blessing for all of us privileged to have known him.

Dear Barbara and Girls, Especially now, May God be so very close you can feel His loving embrace and may He bless you with peace. Toni Druffel Wietholter, Fort Worth, Tx
