HENRY SCHUSTER

As a distant Schuster relative, I will always be grateful to Henry and Anita for first enlightening me about Sterbfritz, the Hessian town where my grandfather was born, and about my extended Schuster family. Descendants of German Jews are indebted to Henry and Anita for bringing the Sterbfritz Jews and their contributions to the attention of the local population. It was an honor to have known Henry, even from a distance.

I wish to add my words of condolence to the Schuster family. I lived for a summer at the Schuster household in Los Angeles. It was a transitional time of my life, and I cannot forget the patience, kindness, and generosity of the Schuster family, in particular Henry Schuster. I remember that he was extremely creative with his hands and with his ideas. There was always something new, vibrant and alive emanating from the Schuster home.
