Henry "Carl" Sohn, 75, died October 10, 2018. He was born & raised in Glen Burnie, Maryland to J. Carl Sohn and Virginia Lee (Pumphrey) Sohn who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Lee (Comelitti) Sohn and his siblings, Nancy Schupple (Henry); Kathleen Gordon (Paul); Michael Sohn (Patricia) and Jennie Zucco (Keith); all of Maryland; and in-laws, Al Comelitti, Jr. (Linda) of The Villages, FL; James Comelitti of Deming, NM; Ann Bartos (Gary) of Lancaster, SC; Susan Comelitti of Ocala, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a retired Honeywell employee contracted to NASA and a 4 year Navy Veteran during the Vietnam era. He & Carol moved to The
Villages, FL in 2008. Carl loved riding his Honda Goldwing for over 35 years. He traveled throughout the US and Canada on it. He also

Carl was great friend of mine for more than 60 years. Carl will always be at the top of my list of best friends. He is gone but he will never be forgotten. Since Carol emailed us to tell us of his passing, Carl has been on my mind. What a shock. It just doesn't seem right, and it isn't.
Even though Carl and Carol moved to Florida 10 years ago, Faith and I still considered them to be among our closest friends, just a little farther away. Periodically, they would return to Maryland and we had great visits. We knew they loved the Villages and we were happy for them. All was good.
As kids Carl and I engaged in typical kid stuff -- dirt ball battles, bowling in a kid's league, and, some strange stuff such as diving for frogs in his swimming pool. His mom, who was one of the kindest, most gentle people on Earth wasn't really happy about it, but she tolerated our nonsense. We had a great time.
Carl was a year ahead of me in high school. When he was a senior, he would pick me up at the school bus stop for a ride to Glen Burnie High. First, he had a 55 Chevy. Then one morning he showed up in his brand-new GTO wow! This was better than old bus number 12.
After he graduated from high school, he joined the Navy. After I graduated, I went to the University of Maryland. We exchanged letters while he was abroad and after his Navy stint he would often show up at my house on his motorcycle. Soon he and Carol married.
And then, 48 years ago Carl served as my best man. It seems like yesterday. Faith came to enjoy Carol and Carl as much as me. Over the years we enjoyed many movies and dinners together. They were good times.
In all the years I knew Carl, I never heard him say a critical or disparaging word about anyone. It just wasn't part of him. No doubt he inherited his kind-hearted personality from his mom.
Carl enjoyed his life to the fullest. With his passing the world has lost a good person and we have lost a great friend. Again, he will be missed but not forgotten.

Always enjoyed getting together for bike rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. So glad we got to see you both at your home in FL if only for a short visit. May God bless you with happy memories. Terry and Cheryl Smith
