We first met Hank and Marilyn when they arrived at Punahou in 1953. Their friendliness and outgoing manner, as well as Hank's quick wit and sense of humor, made them instant favorites with the other faculty members. I feel so privileged to have taught and worked in the Westford Schools when Hank was Curriculm Co-ordinator. He inspired excellence and was supportive of efforts to involve students in critical thinking. My own sensitivity to individual differences was largely influenced by his teaching the Facing History course for faculty and community.
