Henry Zlunka, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Monday, January 26th, leaving behind a life defined by perseverance, dedication, and love.
Born in Czechoslovakia, Henry immigrated to the United States over 40 years ago with a firm belief in working hard and building something meaningful. He loved his family and America, and he lived that belief every day. As a general contractor, he was known for his strong work ethic and pride in doing things the right way. He believed that hard work and persistence were the foundation of a meaningful life.
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Linda Zlunka, whom he loved deeply. They did everything together. He was always there for Linda and for all of his children, offering support and reliability throughout their lives. He is also survived by his daughters, Monika and Renata, and his grandchildren—Monika has three children, and Renata has two. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren from his granddaughter, Zuzana, who brought him great joy. Henry is additionally survived by his stepchildren, Fred, Greg, and Tracy, and their children—Fred with two children, Greg with one, and Tracy with two—all of whom he cared for and supported as his own.
Henry loved to travel, and he and Linda shared many memorable trips together. His love of travel reflected his deep appreciation for different cultures and people, and he had a remarkable gift for languages. He was fluent in six languages—Czech, Polish, Slovak, Russian, German, and English—which allowed him to connect easily with others wherever he went.
Outside of work, Henry found great joy in music. He loved playing his guitar and singing. Henry’s journey from his homeland to the life he built in America reflects his strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He will be remembered for his hard work, his dependability, his love of music, and his constant presence in the lives of his wife and children.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831
