Herbie - My deepest sympathy go out to you and your family. I only met your dad once, and I was very young at the time. I can see from the obituary that he was a fine person - and a great loss to us all. My love and friendship always - Mimi Epstein Testen

Dear Asherman Family, How sad to hear of Herby (as we at our Ritz Restaurant in Union City, Pa.) knew him. He was always so sweet. He would come in with his co-workers from Am. I will never forget the time I was invited to your home and I came for...

I first met Herb and Dottie in the 1960's. He came into our restaurant one Saturday night to "canvas" it before bringing in Dottie who was pregnant with their first child. They were new to the Erie area moving here from Cleveland. Herb and Dottie came in many Saturday nights after that. We reserved the same table for them and they had the same server [Ann] until they moved to Potomac,Md. I was also invited to their home on Gordon Lane. I was very appreciative of his friendship for many...
