Not sure what to say?

I remember Herb as one whose graciousness I could duplicate and whose intelligence I could match. Seeing him in church every Sunday was a plus but I never realized how much he meant to me until he left us.

I was privileged to serve as city librarian in Gladstone with Herb as a member and later the chairman of the Library Advisory Board. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed. What a wonderful man. Many blessings to his family and friends.

On behalf of The Beals family I would like to acknowledge your kind words and remembrances of dad. He truly had a beautiful mind and he could organize and command it. Dad was a humble and dedicated student of history and he has left a helpful mark for many to follow.

Herb was such a gentle man who enlightened so many - My mother, Peggy Carlisle, was honored when he presented her with copies of his books on the history of Gladstone. Blessings to his family.

As a member of Herb's church I always looked forward to seeing him every Sunday. What a great mind he had.

I treasure having known Herb. He had a beautiful and gentle soul. He was truly beloved by all he met.

Herb was an honorable gentleman and a good friend. His depth of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects was only surpassed by his gentle humility. He was a good man who cannot be replaced or forgotten; only fondly remembered.

We are so sorry for your loss, our thoughts are with your family. Your father was a very interesting man, we had some good conversations in the past couple of years.

Patty and Cherie - I'm sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost my dad right after Christmas. I will keep you all in my prayers. Sandra Hanson
