Herbert Burtis

I miss him a lot. I sometimes dream that he near!

My artistic father, mentor, friend and inspiration. I worked with him my whole professional career as actor and singer. Hard work and lots of laughter. Flights of angels my dear friend.

I am so very saddened to hear of this news. Herb was a treasure here in South Berkshire county. I went to a few of his home concerts, which were incredibly special and featured performers and guests across all age groups. He was a gentleman and warm host and a treasure trove of music knowledge. I loved following his blog chronicling performances he’d taken in. I actually just searched for him to see what he is up to now that the world is opening up again. It will not be the same world...

I will miss you for ever! Not only a wonderful person to make music with but a WONDERFUL friend.

I was one of the many people fortunate enough to have Herbert Burtis as a teacher and friend. Herb taught me for seven years and, because of his support and encouragement, I was able to accompany singers and teach students for many years. Herb enabled me to see what a privilege and blessing it is to be able to pass on the Gift of Music. For this I will always be grateful! Thank you, Herb!
