Herbert was born on February 26, 1939 and passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Dale was proceeded in death by his wife, his parents, six siblings and two premature grandchildren. Dale was a member of the graduating class of 1956 from Ansted High School in Ansted, WV. He served in the Army's 97th Signal Battalion and held the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6 when he left the army in 1965. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Mountain View Christian School at P. O. Box 1246 Oak Hill, WV 25901-1246.

Dale was an amazing man. He beat death in the early 1990's. He had a condition that would have had a 95% death rate if he had presented to Massachusetts General Hospital. Dale survived because of his strong will to live, the quick thinking of a dedicated nurse, and the magic hands of a then brilliant surgeon. All of this happened at tiny Plateau Medical Center.
