Herbert R. Castle

Herb and I were neighbors, He on "Monkey" Street and I on Hartford Road. In our early years we "hung out" at Pete Burns Variety Store and Ballpark and on Saturday nights enjoyed the outdoor dances at Granbrook Park. In later years our visits were infrequent but always filled with nostalgia. I'll miss seeing him sitting on the bench at Stony Hill and helping the "older" ladies with their packages as they came back from shopping, always the gentleman.
