Herbert Ellsworth Claar

Pastor Herb was a man who taught and delivered the word of God. Pastor Herb was a friend and knew his congregant's. My prayers to Marcille and family. Pastor Herb will be missed by family and friends.

My heart was saddened to hear of the death of our long-time friend, Rev. Herb Claar. Oh, I'm not sad for him --because he is in his Heavenly Home. But sorry for the great loss to dear Marcille, his family members, friends and the Church Community. Herb certainly served his Master so faithfully in so many areas of ministry. Our sincere sympathy is extended to the entire family at the loss of one so dear. Rev. Herbert Claar was our minister at Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church from 1974 to 1983. He was devoted, kind, and cared about the people in his charge. He and his wife made a great team and served the Lord faithfully. They were always proud of their two dear sons. Pastor Claar will certainly be missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is with his Lord in his heavenly home.

What a wonderful man. We listened to many sermons by Pastor Herb and were moved by each and every one. He was a true man of God and will be missed. RIP Pastor Herb.

I worked with Herb at Gethsemane for several years. I absolutely adored him! His love for Christ shined brightly through everything he did.
