Not sure what to say?

Herb was an old family friend from way back in the sixties I think and a good friend at Manistee lake too ! Not to mention First church in Jackson . From one Vet to another , thank you for your service Herb . May you rest in peace . . . Jim schultz

What a hero! I´ve always loved hearing your stories each December of your trips with Herb to Pearl Harbor. His visits to the lake were fun times and he always had a big smile on his face! I´ll never forget the dance with Keri at her wedding. What a wonderful Dad, father, husband, patriot! They don´t make him like Herb anymore!! Prayers to you and your families, Carol & Keri! We loved Herb.

Wow, what a great life Mr. Elfring lived 1) serving his country, 2) family, and 3) God. My prayer for his family will be for God to bless you during this chapter of his life.

Carol, Hub, John, Barb & Rich, I am truly sorry for your loss but also eternally grateful for having known Herb. What a genuine, gracious and caring man. My sincerest condolences to you all.

I was so sorry to hear about your father's death, but I remember him as larger-than-life and have fond memories of growing up on Briarcliff. I'll never forget moving back to Jackson in 2009 and running into him on the street, when he told me he was dating someone my age. We had a good laugh about that. I'm glad he never lost his sense of humor and adventure.

Thank you sir for your service to our country. God bless you and your family.

RIP Mr.Herbert

His service to our country was unforgettable, but the thing I remember most was the loving care he gave to Ruth for many years. He was an active man who loved to ski and square dance and many of his close friends talked of the good times they had together from the time their families were young until these last few years. He laughed easily and often. He was a National...

Condolences to his family
