I will always have fond memories of Herb at Special Olympics events. He was either behind a camera, serving lunch or awarding ribbons. He was a very special man to alot of people.

Herb served as the Historian for Virginia Beach and Area 2 Special Olympics for many years...in fact he is the reason there is a photographic history of our organization! Herb was always present for games and never slowed in his effort to get photos of our athletes in all kinds of events! We will miss him and there is a void that cannot be filled. God bless and keep you, Herb Gilbert, and your family. Semper fi, Bob Miller
