At one of the Womack Family reunions in the late 90's up on Rainier I had a conversation with Bill and he discovered that I worked in Downtown Portland. I offered to take him to lunch and he said, I'll do one better I'll check out your security while Im there. Sounded good to me.

A few months later I met Bill in our lobby for lunch. Bill laid his notepad on a visitor badge sitting on the security counter, slid it off into his hand and walked right through our state of the art...

Herb was the second coach I had when I was a trainee with PPB. Sincere condolences to the Kruger family. Prayers are with you.

I worked different shifts at Central Precinct than Herb did, However we would on occasion cross paths. He ALWAYS had a kind word. A fine man and Police Officer. He is watching over all of you now. Clyde

I was so sorry to hear of Herb's passing. Herb was a great example of the true street cop. I met Herb several times while I was a trainee at Central precinct back in the early 80's.

Herb was always friendly, witty and interested in how I was doing.

I am very grateful for the many memories working with his son Tadd while we were both assigned to East precinct working the lower eastside.
