Not sure what to say?

Marlys, Bill and family, I was so saddened to hear of Herbie's passing. I was out to visit him a couple of weeks ago and we had a nice conversation. I really enjoyed listening to his stories about the "olden days" and I'll miss his singing. I wish you peace in your time of mourning and assure you that you are not alone in your grief. Herb was close to the hearts of many and all those share your loss. Thank you for sharing Herb with us.

Marlys & Bill,

I am sorry to hear of Herb's passing. He was quite a man! He worked at Federal with my Dad & Mom (Clarence/Blanche Groth), and he and Laura were regular visitors at the Anoka County Historical Society Museum at Colonial Hall when I was director. Such interesting people...both of them.
You have my sincere sympathy.

Your Dad, Herb, was always a bright spot in John's visits with him.
John learned so much from Herb about the early years when he and his dad were growing up. Things he was able to share with his uncle Lyle that opened up a connection that added to a relative link in the family tree. Herb was witty, friendly, extremely bright and just fun to be around.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee used to be part of my paper route in the early 60's. I remember his distinctive smile in the mornings when he was already up and going at 6 AM! Seeing Herb was always a bright part of my day and he was always the first to say hello, as I opened that front metal screen door.

Dear Marlys and Bill,
I am so sorry about the passing of your Dad. It was wonderful, though, that he lived to be 102 years old. With love and prayers.

My condolences to the family. I took care of Herb at Twin Rivers Health Care Center for the majority of the time he and his wife were living there. He was one of my favorite residents and I know he his missed by many.
