Herb, ... we became fast friends and brother Law Enforcement Officers from Class 15 Glendale Police Academy `87. I was sad to read of your untimely passing, ... my condolences to your surviving family. I enjoyed our time in uniform and our weekend range time. You had an easy way about you, but took care of business when the `chips were down´. No doubt you are sorely missed, but you were also welcomed home by our Lord with open arms. Rest In Peace brother.

So sorry for your loss. Herb was an inspiration to me. I thought of him every time I saw the band Chicago in videos. I thought he looked enough like one of the founding members to be brothers. I didn't get to see him recently so I could tell him that I had recently started to sing again. I know he would have been enthused to hear that. He had an unusual kindness that brightened my days. I will miss him terribly. My deepest sympathy to the family. I'm glad I was able to know Herb.
