Pastor Herbert Leon McAlpine

Herby, I met you when I was 18, I was quite lost when I showed up in Teen Challenge in Harrisburg that summer. You were to become the greatest influence in my life. You were my first friend and still my best friend, I hope you still thought of that skinny white boy from West Virginia from time to time. I could never have forgotten you my beautiful friend. I am 67 now and often think of you.

I was one ofr herbs kids from Aug 11 1999 to Jan 24 2000. I was in the juvenile system from 11 years old to 21 and my judge and p probation officer did not want to throw me to the wolves so they placed in the impact program and into Mr herbs care. I just found his obituary and wanted to express my condolences.

I thought it was just a few years ago I saw you. I'm glad that I was able to introduce you to my wife. I'm glad that I got to show you that you helped at least one person to grow to be better than where he came from. You were a good man and you a major part of the reason I have become a good man. RIP. I miss you.

You will never know the IMPACT you made in my life.. When i met you..I was in Foster Care with Mrs Pat and Rupert..rest well.You are a great man...Your influence helped me become a man...today...I dont know why you popped into my mind 20 years later..I am privileged to have known you...I miss u and your Jetta...Rest well....rest well

I praise the lord for Pastor herb life and friendship and ministry. We travel a lot together at bible college. God use this man greatly to help others. I will miss him dearly but I know I will soon see him again in Heaven! Evangelist/Author Eugene Lee McDuffie

Dear sweet Herbie, how sad we were to hear of your passing but our first thought was that you and Bill are reunited and what a wonderful reunion that must have been! I still believe with all my heart that God meant for you to be there for Bill and you were his guardian angel. You were such an amazing mentor and he loved you so much! We all do Herbie! I have never met anyone quite like you and I am so grateful for your love and friendship. Love you Herbie!

He was such a patient, calm and soft spoken man of God with a beautiful smile.
