Fond memories of Herb-o-grams left on my desk; those bat-bite sketches....that rapid clicking of the mechanical pencil, tip of tongue sticking out. Cheers to a life well lived...the office wasn't the same without you.

An amazing person who helped me with several projects without discussing money first. He was warm and welcoming and openly shared his office and staff. I am saddened by his death as I am sure many are.

John Sutton Photography Herb McLaughlin took a chance on John right out of school. Great memories of Herb. He meant so much to Marianne and me during our early years in San Francisco. Generous. A valued mentor. When I joined in the 80's we found KMD was a thrilling place to work with a culture that extended beyond the normal business day and influenced us as Architects as well as in our personal life. We hold that time we spent at KMD to be among the best of our professional years.
