My condolences to the Mims family. I was privileged to have worked with Herb in 2007 while I was employed by Transocean and he was employed by ART Catering, respectively. He was one of the wittiest people I've ever met, and it was a pleasure to work with him. RIP Herb.

If this is the Herbert J Mims I think it is, I taught him in Headstart in 1965, the first summer of the program. I have always wondered about his life, but only recently thought of googling him. He was a darling boy. How old was he at his death, so I can be sure that it is the same Herbert. Thank you.

Next to his birthday, the last memory of Herbert was after the church service of the last "Mims Family Reunion" about three years ago. The reunion was well attended with over 300 people participating in one way or another. Herbert among a few others came by the house after church and we talked and laughed, and talked and laughed to no end. A wonderful time!!!!!
