Herbert W. Park

Herb and Mary were early fans of KBOO. Among other reasons they were fans of Jean Shepherd, whose monologues were broadcast on KRAB in Seattle and KBOO.

When I became manager at KBOO I approached him for help in forming the KBOO foundation, writing the bylaws, transferring the license from Jack Straw. He was my big brother. We became friends, and he and Mary were endlessly hospitable to me.

Herb walked his dog on Arlington Heights during the 1970s, and I recall his joyful demeanor. He seemed both confident and cheerful. That's the way I'll remember him. I remember your mother as well. Loss is difficult, but I think you must have wonderful memories of both your parents. - Thank you for including pictures of your family in this guest book.
