Not sure what to say?

Deke was a surrogate father to me for many years. I will never forget the love and kindness he gave to my daughters and I. He took a special interest in each of his granddaughters encouraging them to fulfill their dreams.
Deke and I shared a love of gardening and I could always depend on his gardening tips. The beauty of his homes were enhanced by the landscape he created. I will miss him.

As one of Papa Deke's lucky granddaughters it was easy to respect my grandfather's wide range of talents from beekeeper to aviator to my favorite dance partner, but it is the kindheartedness he showed to all his friends and family that I will miss the most! I'm grateful for both Grandma Lou and Papa Deke and happy they are now reunited.

Deke was the dearest man and had such a zest for life. He will forever be dear to me. It was a priviledge to know him. He has an amazing family, I am proud to call his daughter, Susan, my best friend. Jan Bigotti

My sympathy to all of Deke's family. We had many good times together with Deke and Anna Lou and were proud to call them "best friends".

We have so many good memories of our golfing outings with Anna Lou and Deke at the RB Country Club. We even made a trip to Alisal Ranch with them. Deke always furnished us with fresh vegetables from his garden, and Anna Lou would give me some delicious recipes to cook them. We miss them both.
