On Saturday, May 5, 2018, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, Bro. Herbert Walker Peters of 25804 Franklin Street, North Dinwiddie, VA, was born on July 25, 1934 in Petersburg, VA, to the late Herbert L. Peters and Loyd M. Peters.
Bro. Peters was educated in the Petersburg Public School System where he graduated in 1952 from Peabody High School. He also attended Virginia State College (University) for three years. He enjoyed music, reading, watching television, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved playing the piano and the organ. Bro. Peters was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 19, 1974.
Bro. Peters leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 62 years, Jean M. Peters; three daughters, Loyd K. Peters-Ince (Gershom), Terry A. Peters and Yvette M. Peters; two sons, Windell S. Peters (Oraphan) and Andre Peters (Lorraine); seven grandchildren, Monét Ince-Amara (Samuel), Renata Ince, Tabitha Whitehead, Quince Peters, Brandon Peters (Tiffany), Ayumi and Emiri Peters; nine great grandchildren, DiaMonté Ince, Julian Ince-Reid, Samanthan Rose Amara, Natalia Ince, Nymira, Lev, and Martell Whitehead; Quincy Peters, Jr. and Oliva Peters; his only sister, Olivia P. Peterson; sister-in-law, Ann Davis; a life-long friend, Bro. Jerome Harrison; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Bro. Herbert Peters will be truly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held 3:30 P.M., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 575 Old Wagner Road, Petersburg, VA, Bro. Eric Harrison, officiating.
The family will assemble 3:00 P.M. the day of the service at the Kingdom Hall.
