Not sure what to say?

Any time in my life that I believed I had some important issue all figured out, Dad was always able to say something to give me another perspective and make me realize that there were aspects I didn't know about or hadn't considered. My certainty suffered, and I'm confident that I and my little corner of the world are both the better for it.
Most of all I will miss our trips together.

Herb's memorial will be held on Saturday, April 25th, from 10 am to 1 pm at Salty's at Alki, 1936 Harbor Ave. SW. RSVPs to [email protected] would be appreciated.

I, too, am another Ozetter who came to depend upon Herb for his knowledge and skills, and his joy, enthusiasm, and perspectives on life, people, and events. He was a weaver of stories, a gentleman, and a gentle man.

As one of the Ozetters who enjoyed Herb's friendship and great smile, he is well remember by all. He was a joy to work with. Where will the the April 25 memorial be held?

In 1939 Herb spent a year bumming around the country and in the process hopped a few freights. In 1959-1962 I spent a fair amount of time on the road (though almost never on the bum), hopping the occasional freight as well. In the early '90's he sent me a book entitled "The Compleat Freighthopper's manual for North America" with a note: "How about it, son? One more ride?"
I never had the nerve to call him on it. Herb didn't bluff much.

Herb was always so full of life it is hard to imagine life without him. He gave us wings as well as roots, he supported us in every way possible. His legacy is everywhere, daring us to reach as far as he did.

Reb and Wolf...
I have known Herb since Camp Benbow, he feels like family to me also.

It is difficult to imagine him not coming to Passover at our home. He is such an interesting man and I will miss him greatly.
