RIP Mr. Topius. The photo linked is him with Somali National team in China.

Saddened to hear the passing of coach Tobias, never forgot how he trained us while in Mogadishu, in the 70's. Very energetic out going and how he transformed our lives through sports culture. Always great full about his contribution to Somali basketball development.

Grateful Liberian, privileged to have met a man with such 'joie de vivre'. Thank you very much!

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. UNCLE HERBERT I WILL CARRY YOU IN MY HEART FOREVER.

Anne-Marie and I were saddened to hear of Herb's passing. He was a high energy, fun loving and caring individual. We wish him eternal peace.

Saddened to hear of Herb's passing. He will always be remembered for his energy and willingness to help the athletic trainers and student athletes in FCPS while was in Virginia between his world tours. Herb was the epitome of colorful, from his outfits to his stories. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. You will be missed, thanks for the memories and stories.

Herb Tobias, I knew as a kind, gentle, loving soul. He offered his warmth and love to you as you entered his presence. He cared. He helped. He was a friend, a colleague and all around great guy. My memories of him are full of fondness and respect. His energy was always positive. Thank you Herb for your contributions to this life and your example of how to live it.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Herb, but grateful for his service to our nation with the Peace Corps in Afghanistan and Iran.

Our Condolences,
The National Peace Corps Association
