Not sure what to say?

Just learned from Dale Gilles about the passing of our dear Herb. He was a wonderful teacher, leader and friend. I know his spirit of loving - kindness, laughter, and intelligence will live on to light the way for many other pilgrims in Africa. We knew him in Liberia and Kenya. God Bless you and your family Joyce. Suzanna Cody and son Chris Polatin (now over 50)

My late wife Susan and I had the pleasure of serving with Herb and Joyce in the U.S. Embassy in Bamako, Mali in the mid-'80s. Herb was a great colleague, an excellent Foreign Service Officer, and a really good man. He will be missed. My condolences to Joyce and the family. Shaun Donnelly

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Herbert, but grateful for his service to our nation with the Peace Corps.

Our Condolences,
The National Peace Corps Association

Sending love to the wonderful Tyson/Hilton family. -Lisa, David, and Alex.

We miss you, Pates!
