WEINTRAUB, Herbert David M.D. Of Natick, Wellesley and Kennebunkport, Maine on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Minnie and Isadore Weintraub (deceased). Brother of the late Doris Wentraub Weston. Husband of 58 years to Maxine Levensohn Weintraub. Father of Daniel Weintraub of Vermont, Jane Weintraub and Kraye Grymonnt of Colorado and Susan and Andrew Stein of Sudbury, Massachusetts. Predeceased by his daughter Ellen Marjorie Weintraub. Survived by six adored grandchildren: Max, Sarah, Isabelle and Josephine Stein of Sudbury, Massachusetts and Hannah and Eli Weintraub of Vermont. He was a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, Western Reserve undergraduate, graduate and medical schools. He was an intern and resident at New England Medical Center, Chief Resident of Pediatric Radiology at Boston Children's Hospital, pediatric radiologist at the University of Missouri Medical School and a member of the Department of the Radiology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. The majority of his years as a radiologist were spent at the then Framingham Union Hospital, ending his time there as Department Chief. He practiced radiology for a number of years at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine. He loved classical music, the game of bridge, extended road trips to anywhere including coast to coast travels in the United States and memorable trips to France, the Netherlands and Belgium. He was the ultimate Patriots and Red Sox fan, even forgoing his Cleveland Indians for the Sox. He was a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor who came home almost every night for dinner with his family. His last years were very difficult and as much as he will be missed we are glad that he is now at peace. Shiva will be at Susan and Andrew's home on Sunday, February 3, 11-3 and Monday February 4, 6-9. I was thinking about some of the docs I've worked with .. after my 48 years in medicine. Herb Weintraub was an excellent doc and better person. I trained as a radiology tech while he was at FUH in the early 70's. His bark was much worse than his bite His love of sports was obvious. Mel Sher... his best man and could always be seen sharing a diagnosis.. or a joke. I liked and respected Dr Weintraub ... may he RIP

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Herb. I fondly remember the time you so graciously invited me to celebrate Passover with your family, as well as our time at Newton High School and meeting at Framingham Hospital when our mothers were just across the hall from each other. And, of course, working on our NHS reunions together.

It is with deep sorrow that I read and learn of Herb's passing. I have known Herb since he was best friends with my brother in high school. That means I have known Herb for about 70+ years. I have always known him to be an intelligent and quiet loving person and friend. My condolences to Maxine and the entire Weintraub family.
