In 2005 I shattered my ankle and Dr. Hoeksema took me into surgery at 7pm. He put the zigsaw puzzle back together and then came by after to apologize for not being able to safely re-insert one very tiny piece of recalcitrant bone. Herm was a very special friend to me besides him putting me together many times,we become friends memories of trips to Colorado and fishing and just him listening to my stories and I listening to his in the many rides out west I will miss him dearly. My condolences to the family.

Doc did a knee replacement in '09.....rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders....I always kidded he left scars all over my body but always had time to visit whenever I would run into him anywhere...I think the last place was the farmers market....
