Not sure what to say?

Herman was a prime example of what a gentleman should aspire to be. He was the only person I ever met who actually worked under the Berlin Wall working on communications during the cold war. A big part of our nations history. He also will be remembered by many in the amateur radio community and the 'parts' donations he made to our local builders. He put smiles on many faces. Herm, you are missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Herm's passing. There are many stories and memories of the time I spent with Herm during my time as Scoutmaster of Troop 198. We had so many hikes and outings, too many to count, and Herm was right there with the troop lending guidance and wisdom. Always remember the cigars and year round shorts!! He could be quite the character and my family and I will always remember him fondly. Our condolences go out to Herm's family.

Thank you for the time you shared with us in you shop. We made the canoe trailer and klondike sleds and many more things for our merit badge classes.

You will always be remembered for the three cigar hike. (The longer the hike the more cigars it took)

I became a mechanical engineer because you showed us all of the cool things engineers get to do and the "toys" we get to play with.

I'm still an active assistant scout master.
Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts as well....
