I really only knew Hank from his neighborly daily walks past our house in Rancho Bernardo. He always stopped to chat. He was one of the friendliest neighbors I have had the pleasure of knowing. I was delighted when he signed a copy of his book, Gallant Ship, Brave Men, for me. I was fortunate enough to be able to see the medal he received from the Russian government. He will be missed by my wife and me, but not forgotten.

It is with great sadness we learned of the death of Hank. He was a dear sweet man and a wonderful caring husband to his wife Susan. We had the privlege of knowing Hank for over 23 years. Our deepest condolences to Fred and Dan and Marji and the entire
family.
