Not sure what to say?

rest in peace . I remember the Shaffers and the Favels as inseparable friends .

RIP Herman. Was always glad to see you come into the club at VFW 1859. Always 2 draft beers and a shot of Black Velvet. Bill Theaker Commander

Herman was my Dads cousin (Aaron Shaffer). Growing up I called him the quarter man because every time I seen him he gave me a quarter. Always enjoyed Herman and Maxine when they would visit my parents.

Herm was my uncle, who modeled a loving home to me, and opened that home to me every weekend from when I was in about third grade until 10th. He and Maxine loved each other so much and made me feel special, a part of their lives. He was a proud marine and the best looking man in Saginaw! I'll love him always and remember him forever and am heartened to know he ran to Maxine and is surrounded by my mom, his sister, and all his family of orientation, as well as my brother, Jim. One by one,...

A good man and a good life. Godspeed, Mr. Shaffer.

I worked summers at Ed's Rental while teaching at MacArthur HS back in the late 60s. Herman was fun to work with. I remember his often greeting to me, "Kid, kid, you don't look so good, how do you feel?" Also remember his goofy riddles, "What is the difference between a duck?" Answer: "One of their legs are both alike". He was a fun & funny guy. Sorry to read of his death.
