Herman F. "Hayim" Stopak

I met Herman as a kid as he married my older sister, Malka. I enjoyed being invited to their home when I lived in Winnipeg with my step-mother, Hilda. I was delighted to be introduced to places I had never seen before. It was an adventure for me. Later, in my 20's, Herman laughed at my 'radicalism' as I supported the grape growers in their poverty and quest for better wages and a better life. He referred to them as "pineapple growers"! :).
