Herman Taulbee

Herman Lee Taulbee Herman "Lee" Taulbee, age 72, a 38 year resident of Oakley, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Oakley on December 14, 2005. Lee was born March 28, 1933, in Kilgore, Texas, a son of John and Inez Taulbee. He served his country during the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a Digester Cook for Fibreboard Company in Antioch for 30 years before his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Antioch Moose Lodge, and enjoyed fishing, coin and stamp collecting, and Citizens Band Radio, where he was known as "Oly Kid". Lee will be missed by his loving daughters, Nancy Taulbee of Pittsburg, CA., Rebecca Basinger of Antioch, CA., Shirley Ecklund of Piggy Cove, AK., and Debra Lyde of Sherman Island, CA.; by his beloved brothers, James Taulbee of Mt. Pleasant, TX., and Dale Taulbee of McKinney, TX.; by 5 adoring grandchildren, by 3 adored great grandchildren, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death in 1997 by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia Ann Taulbee. A Memorial Celebration of Lee's life will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Aladino's Pizza Parlor, 2587 Main Street, Oakley. Cremation was private.
