Herschel E. Lyons

To the Lyons Family:
I will never forget "Mr. Lyons," the first and always the BEST principal I ever had -- as a student, and even much later in life when I became a teacher. I began school at Purche Avenue Elementary as a kindergartener when the school opened and I grew with the school, until graduating after the sixth grade. Mr. Lyons was always my hero. Aunt Dolores and Jim;

I am so glad that we had the opportunity to reconnect the past few years as I worked in California. It reinforced for me what a wonderful man that my Uncle Hersh was. I always looked up to him for his inner strength, his love of family and his wonderful sense of humor. His concern for others was always very apparent, and he was known and loved by many. We shall celebrate his life and remember him with much love. My love and prayers are with you.
