Not sure what to say?

Herschel Scott used to take me on his minibike to eat at LaPrades at Lake Burton when we camped together at Moccassin Creek State Park. I will always remember his deep voice, his love of the Bulldogs, and the stories he used to tell around the campfire. He is and was an American original.

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Scott in Hawaii when he came to see the Dawgs play Virginia in the Aloha Bowl. I was working for ABC Sports at the time. Being the chatter box that Mr. Bulldog was we soon were discusing football and discovered that we lived not too far from each other. He being from Monroe of course and my family from Grayson. As a graduate from UGA in 2000 I had a great time listening to stories of Georgia Football glory days. He introduced me to Dewey Moody, Coach Donnan,...

WE tailgated alot with this Bulldog, a truly wonderful person and a die hard Bulldog Fan. May he be enjoying Bulldog heaven, without any aches or pains.

It has been my privilege to live down the street from Mr. Scott for the past five years, although I knew him much longer than that. The Bulldog nation has lost its most loyal man - we shall never see the like again.

God Bless, Mr. Bulldog, and Godspeed.

To Herschel's family -

We were privileged to know Herschel from the UGA games, and all of our tailgating opportunities. He was most gracious and kind to all, and made everyone feel special to be included in his "circle" of Dawg fans. We will miss him, but we know that he's gone to a better place, where the Dawgs always win!

There will be a pep rally in heaven when all friends and family welcome you there. Our loss is their gain.

Thank you for all your prayers and concerns at this most difficult time for the family. A scholarship fund has been set up at the National Bank of Walton County with donations going to the University of Georgia Football Scholarships.

"Mr. Bulldog's" daughter
