I have many fond childhood memories of playing on Uncle Hershals dairy, letting the calf suck on our "whole" hand, romping thru the cow piles and riding the horse. I would come out with Shirley and Sheryl (I was Sheryl's best friend back then). She just let me know about his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. My family would like to extend our deepest sympathies and offer our prayers to your family. Hershel was someone for whom we had a lot of respect. I worked for the bank in Lamont when I first met him and that is where he first asked me to participate in the dairy princess contest so many years ago. My dad was also in the dairy business in the area in those days. I'm grateful to Hershel for all the contributions he made to us all while here among us. I feel blessed to have known him. Words can not express how much i am going to miss you. The last 17 months have been a roller coaster. I could never picture my life with out you and granny and now both of you are gone. There is a massive hole in my heart for you,Mom and Granny now and i just sometimes want to give up. But i know i can't. Give mom and granny a kiss for me.
