Hertha Marie Schwisow

Schwisow, Hertha Marie Died peacefully on January 12, 2007, age 101, at St. Francis Medical Center, Shakopee, MN. Born Feb. 24, 1905 to Albert & Bertha Froemming on a New Ulm, MN farm. She moved with her family to a farm outside Elgin, ND at age 11. She taught in one-room schools near Elgin before marriage to Arnold John Schwisow in 1929. They settled in Hopkins, MN in 1936, then later in Bloomington, MN. Recently, she lived in Elim Shores, Eden Prairie, MN, then St. Gertrudes' Health Center, Shakopee. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Arthur, Herman, Emil Froemming; sisters, Frieda Seibel, Erna Froemming; Elsie Rund, Irma Brown; and grandson, Tom Schwisow. Surviving are: her brother, Paul Froemming & wife, Olga, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; her son, C. Ronald Schwisow & wife, Donnette, Midland, TX; her daughter, Janice Schwisow & husband, Sam, San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Alyson Huey-Weaver & husband, Lyle, Jay Schwisow & wife, Kristi; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Joshua, Mercy, Melissa Schwisow; children of grandson, Tom Schwisow, Neil and Amber; great-granddaughter, Lacy Schwisow. Special thanks to Dr. Nancy O'Connor, Cathy McCoy, Sue Ruff, Martha Morgan, and their families, to St. Francis Hospital nursing staff, and many friends who shared her life. Memorial Service Wed., Jan 17 at 11 am with visitation at 10 am at Berea Lutheran Church, 7538 Emerson Ave So, Richfield, MN 55423. Private interment in Cannon Falls, MN.
