Black, Hester age 87, of Coon Rapids, died Aug. 31. She was born Nov. 15, 1920 in Sioux Center, IA to Edward and Alida Vermeer. She is survived by children, Nancy Howard, Dave Black, Jeanine Ringstad, Scott Black, Lisa (Brendan) Spirala; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-granddaughter; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband, Darrell; son, Timothy; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral service Thursday 10:30 AM at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, W. Main St. & Branch Ave., Anoka. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation 5-8 PM Wednesday (TODAY). Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home Anoka 763-421-0220

We were saddened to hear about the passing of Aunt Hess. Many years have pasted with fond memories of our cousins from Minnesota. Remembering most that the cousin from Minnesota came to stay on the farm. This was probably a nice break for Aunt Hess. May the many memories you have of mom, grandma, or great grandma continue to be weaved into the future generations. We pray for God to bring comfort to the entire family during this time.
