Graveside service for Hettie Pittman Stewart, 98, of Hartselle will be today, June 21, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with Bro. Harold Thompson and Bro. J.T. Copeland officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stewart, who died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her residence, was born July 22, 1912, in Georgia to Henry Hoyle Pittman and Laura Lovancy King Pittman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Stewart; and her great-great-grandson, Charles Stewart Carroll. She was a lifelong Hartselle Merchant along with her husband, Charlie. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed yard work, especially raking leaves and picking up limbs. She was the oldest living member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jane Prince (Paul) of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Anne Walker, caregiver, Becky Tankersley, Carolyn Prince and Charlie Prince, all of Hartselle, and Mary Paul Hendry of Satellite Beach, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Charlie Prince, Wesley Tankersley, John David Blackwood, Joe Ed Tankersley, Mark Roberts, Jimmy Robbins, Bobby Robbins, Harold Wayne Copeland and George Edward McDonald.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.

To all the family of Mrs. Stewart I am very sorry for the loss of such a sweet lady. but just look back on all the memories and you will have lots of smiles and afew times when you will have to chuckle out loud I pray for Jesus to give you peace passed understanding. Charlie I'm sorry that I didn't come on in I know you know how it is sometimes and to Becky,Ann,Caroline and MaryPaul and to Elizabeth and all the children

We are so sorry about Aunt Hettie. She was a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed. You and your family are in our prayers and May God keep his arms around you at this time and the days ahead. We wish we could have been there with you but know we love you and your in our hearts.
