It is with heavy hearts and a deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hilario “Jr” Romeo Jimenez, our loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He left this world suddenly on September 30, 2022, at the age of fifteen. Many knew him for his contagious smile, loving heart, goofy personality, and respectful mannerism. Hilario “Jr” was born on December 13, 2006, to Hilario M. Jimenez and Serina Mancha of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jr was currently attending Las Cruces High School as a sophomore. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, off roading, fishing, taking country road cruises, and was also a member of the House of Pain Boxing Gym. Jr was a very hard worker, always willing to help others, and was already on the path to make his dream of becoming a barber a reality.


 


Hilario was proceded in death by his father Hilario Jimenez III, cousins Justin Barela and Jesse Torres, maternal grandfather Johnny Benavidez, paternal great grandparents Hilario & Micaela Jimenez, and paternal great grandparents Anastacia & Albert Martinez


 


He is survived by his mother, Serina Mancha, his brothers, Elijah Jimenez, Angel Garcia, Xzayvion Jimenez, Jessiah Benavidez, and Daniel Garza. Other survivors include his paternal grandparents Hilario and Virginia Jimenez. Maternal grandmother Bernice and Manny Montoya. As well as his aunts and uncle Ines and Juan Rodriguez, Connie Barela, Juanita Jimenez, Mark Benavidez, Sheyenne, and Anastacia Montoya. Numerous cousins; JC and Alyssa Rodriguez, Gabriel Barela, Marissa, Andrea and Arturo Gomez, Matthew Martinez, Alexandra Benavidez, Amado De Leon, Angelica, and Aaliyah Benavidez.


 


Serving as pallbearers will be Elijah Jimenez, Juan Rodriguez, JC Rodriguez, Alyssa Rodriguez, Gabriel Barela and Arturo Gomez. Honorary pallbearers; Xzayvion Jimenez, Angel Garcia, Jesse Benavidez, Daniel Garza, Marissa Gomez, Andrea Gomez, Matthew Martinez, Manny Montoya, Adam Torres, Jeriyah Medina, and Alexandra Benavidez.


 


A “Celebration of Life and Memorial Service” will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Landmark Christian Church located at 151 S. Solano Drive, Las Cruces, NM 88001. Burial service will proceed at Masonic Cemetery located at 760 S. Compress Road, Las Cruces, NM 88005 where Jr will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations and cards may be sent to the family at Baca Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Rd. Las Cruces, NM 88005 (575)527-2222.
