Not sure what to say?

I just saw a clip of Hilda reporting for KIRO TV on Billy Milligan on the Netflix series 'Monsters Inside.' It's the first time I've seen her in more than 50 years. She was my 6th grade Sunday School teacher at Seattle's First Free Methodist church, in about 1959. She was a wonderful and kind teacher. I have a clear memory of her arranging a debate in our class, re: evolution. I took, or was assigned, the side of evolution. :) I also knew her as a family (Jack and Solveig Arnold)...

Thoughts of Hilda had me looking her up this morning, only to find she had passed away nearly nine years ago. Hilda was good to me. I wish I had better communicated that appreciation to her back in my Seattle University days.

Hilda was an inspiration in my classes. So smart and so kind. Older than us and a great deal wiser. Thought about her after so many years apart.

I know that I am several years late to this, but I can't help but believe she is still with us all, and seeing my message.

Hilda, thank you for your guidance and friendship. You were my mentor, and I admired you in every way.

Love always,

The National Federation of Press Women express their condolences to Hilda's family. Hilda was a long-time member of NFPW. She was honored as our "Woman of Achievement" in 1969. We saluted her in 1969 and we fondly remember her from our archives today.

To my loving family Uncle Bob, Vickie and family. I will always remember the last 2 times you came to Michigan. At the Spring Arbor university honoring Aunt Hilda and a short surprise visit with his sister's, what a blessing it was to see them together for the last time. Truly a God send. On behalf of the Bryant family we send you our love, prayers and thoughts. Can you please contact me @ [email protected]

I just now found out of the passing of my Aunt Hilda. May she rest in peace.

I was in journalism school with Hilda and we graduated in 1965. We met for coffee about 10 years later, but I have never met a nicer woman who was ethical and very smart.

I wish I had stayed in touch with her. She was a very classy woman.

Hilda and her husband, Bob, were youth leaders in our church when I was a student at Ballard High School in the 50's. I remember sewing a skirt for her as part of a fund raising effort. I wonder now if she really needed the skirt, or if she was just encouraging a teenager who needed to learn the joy of giving. When they left Seattle for a time, Hilda was editor of a church magazine, "Youth in Action", headquartered in Indiana. When our Bible quiz team traveled there for competition, Bob...
