Regina & Hilda Hagger, Judy McLeod - Mother's Day 1999

Gram, It has been 15 years since you were called to be with the Lord. I think of you often as I remember all the love and caring that you shared with me. So many life lessons were learned when in the company of Gramma-cooking, crafting, baking, decorating for the holidays, gardening, Home Improvement, flower arranging, cleaning, playing cards and of course all kinds of fun! The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us what is really important in life - Family, Friends, Loved Ones, spending time...

I first met Hilda when she was living on South Salina Street and she was working at Lemp Jewelers as a bookkeeper. She negotiated with Mr. Lemp to sell a perfect 50 pt. blue/white diamond to her son for his fiance's ring. I remember a party that she let her son have at her apartment. She was always very accommodating to her children's friends and loved having company for dinner on Sunday. I remember being introduced to the Hemmerlein's of Darlington Rd. She looked extremely beautiful on her...

My memories of Gram are of happy times filled with family, food and lots of love.

She always had hugs and kisses for us and was a very affectionate grandmother. Gram always had encouraging words for us.

She would always bring something home for us: candy, a small gift, a new outfit. Gram had a sweet tooth. She would buy the candy by the pound from Day Brothers or Addis Co. downtown. She would hide the candy in the pantry where she thought we couldn't find it. My...

Even when I was feeling too shy to say hello, she smiled at me and seemed to understand. I'll always remember her calling "ROSE!" from the porch door.

The photos are lovely, thank you for posting them.

Hilda has always been and always will be a happy memory of my childhood. Her cooking was my favorite. She introduced me to many different foods.

Rose, I remember your Grandma very well. She was always smiling and supportive, attending all the dance functions and enjoying us when we were yet little girls. She also put up with alot of craziness from us as pre-teens and early teenagers.

I remember her being very accomodating of me as a frequent overnight guest and I remember her being busy in the kitchen and served us really nice family style meals.

I remember her coming and going from the house as she may have...

Gramma was like a mother to me and my best friend also. I am so glad that I got to return some of her kindness by caring for her in her last few years.

I've uploaded a few of my favorite photos of her to share with everyone.
