Hilda Starkey

Hilda Elaine Starkey, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at her residence. She was a member of Abba's House. She retired from TVA after 30 plus years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Raymond and Vadie Henderson; brothers, Ernest Weldon Henderson, Billy Henderson, Ralph Henderson, Slaughter Henderson and John Henderson. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Starkey and Terrance Starkey; daughter, Valencia Starkey; grandchildren, LeDarrius Starkey and Jasmine Shackelford; brother, Frank (Elaine) Henderson; devoted cousins, Marie Herndon, Jeanette Green, Gloria Walker, Mary (Fredrick) Fortson, Frieda Parks, Ted (Johnnie) Herndon, Barbara (Handy) Williamson and Ressie "Mona" Rouse; devoted nephew, William Henderson; children's father, Terry Starkey, all of Chattanooga; close friends, Beverly Cox, Nena Montigo, Pat (Don) Moore, Ruth Smith, Alyce Scott, Diane (Sam) Lizarraga, Janice Beard, Mamie (Will) Blowe, Pastor Paulette Phillips, Ora Melton and Betty Melton; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Visitation is today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation is also on Monday at 11 a.m. at Abba's House with the funeral to follow at noon with Pastor Paulette Phillips as eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
