Not sure what to say?

TO ALL THE CATON FAMILY,
WE ARE DEEPLY SADDENED WITH THE PASSING OF OUR CLASSMATE, HIRAM.
MANY MEMORIES, OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL DAYS WITH HIRAM, WILL REMAIN WITH EACH ONE OF US.
SINCERELY,
CLASS OF 1954 ~ CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL

Most of my knowledge of Hiram was through his sister, Dottie, although my husband and I did have the good fortune to meet him once, years ago in Chapel Hill NC. I remember being totally blown away by his intellect. I think he always enjoyed the challenge in intellectual persuit that Dottie presented and that cemented the big brother-little sister bond that was already there.
John joins me in sending our sympathy to Dottie and Hiram's other sister, Betty, as well as his daughters and...

Hiram and Dottie at Caton reunion; 2006.

Hiram was my first cousin who I shared childhood memories of, then, after nearly 50 years, reconnected with via genealogy and the internet. My wife and I had a wonderful visit with him in Brisbane in 2004 where we were treated like royalty with a wonderful dinner enjoyed by many of his friends. We last saw Hiram at a Caton family reunion,in 2006 organized so well by his sister, Dottie. I enjoyed discussions with Hiram, ranging on topics from politics to science to religion and a wide range...

Hiram and Beya 2004

I am so privileged to have connected with Hiram several years ago through my genealogical research on Don's Caton ancestors. Hiram was a generous and wonderful host to his American cousins when they visited Australia. Having met Beya, we can say she was strong and loving companion and much support to him. We had another lovely visit with Hiram in Concord at the Caton Family Reunion, organized by Dottie.

Betty, I am so sorry. He sounds like he lead quite a life but, remembering him from high school, I'm not a bit surprised. Love to each of you.

The Concord High School Class of 1957 sends our love and sympathy to the Caton Family. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
