Not sure what to say?

Sitting here looking at old MD notes of mine from when I was 2 weeks old when my mother rushed me to the hospital due to a volvulus bowel obstruction, thanking God for the doctor who saved my life. I googled the man marked: MD, WILTSE, HOBART E , & it led me here. This was in 1990. I am now a 32 year old woman with a child of my own. God bless his family and friends. I am so very grateful for his contributions and saddened that I couldn't tell him how much grateful I am for wonderful doctors...

We were both so saddened to hear of Hobe"s passing. Like so many other's I was fortunate enough to know him as a superb teacher, gifted clinician, caring mentor and colleague. He has touched so many lives in such positive ways, I hope that is a comfort for you at this time. He will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathies and prayers for the Wiltse family. Dr. Wiltse was my "PKU doctor" from birth until after college. He was patient, kind, caring, and one of the nicest people I have ever met. His kindness and love will be missed, but will never be forgotten.

Our sympathies to the family of Dr. Wiltse. He was the kindest, smartest man I ever met. He was responsible for saving our babies lives when they were only 3 months old. They are now 11 and thanks to Dr. Wiltse, as healthy as any 11 year old boy

As parents of one of Dr. Wiltse special "PKU Kids", we will always remember his warm, caring way with our daughter. He put us at ease when we first met with him upon Emily's diagnosis as an infant. Even after he retired, he still came to the clinic to see her on her annual visits. Our prayers are with the family.

An enormous loss to the pediatric community of the area and the region. Hobe was a colleague, fraternity brother, mentor, friend and someone who could solve complicated metabolic problems and resolve them. He could explain a complicated medical problem to the parents and to the attending physicians and helped me on numerous occasions in a gentle informative way. Sadly, his health issue was unknown so I can not thank him personally; I extend my sympathy and thanks to his family.

I want to send warm regards and deepest sympathy to Hobe's family. The Pediatric Community in Nebraska has lost a legend, friend, mentor, teacher and outstanding clinician. Many of us are who we are, and where we are because of Hobe's kind and gentle guidance and support. He would have been too modest to truly embrace all the accolades that will come to him with great love and admiration at the time of his death. Goodbye my friend.

Expressing our deepest sympathy to the Wiltse family. Dr. Wiltse, our neighbor... will always remain in our hearts. A gentle soft spoken kind, kind man! His love of gardening brightened the street with color and beauty for all to enjoy. My favorite...his yellow roses. With Peace, Faith and "Hope" always...

I want to send my deepest sympathy to the Wiltse family and friends. My family has wonderful memories of Hobe and they are now more dear.
Dr. Wiltse was one of the kindest men I have ever known. I'll always remember his quiet strength and dignity. Thank you Hobe, for being there when my family needed it. We will always be grateful.
You are gone but not forgotten.
